LAHORE - A high-powered committee, comprising Punjab Additional IG Operations Arif Nawaz Khan and Lahore Division Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal, submitted inquiry report on the incident of Depalpur Road, Kasur, to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday.

According to the report, six accused involved in abusing children in a village have been arrested while raids are being conducted for the arrest of three nominated accused. The chief minister directed the Kasur DPO to immediately arrest the other accused involved in abusing the children. He said the persons involved in such heinous incidents could not escape punishment, adding the Punjab government would award exemplary punishment to the accused.

It may be mentioned that on the instructions of the chief minister, a high-powered committee, consisting of the additional IG operations and the Lahore commissioner, had been constituted for the investigation of the incident that occurred four days ago. The committee submitted its report to the chief minister on Saturday. The committee also submitted a report on the protest launched against these incidents. The report stated the protesters had injured 20 police officials during their protest.
