Kotli: A 28-year-old woman was severely injured today when Indian forces resorted unprovoked firing across the border, in Jandrot sector near the Line of Control.

According to the ISPR, the military's public relations wing, the woman identified as Fareeda was severely injured, after she received bullet wounds in the stomach. The wounded lady has been shifted to Rawalpindi, from District Hospital Kotli as prescribed by doctor.

India has been continuously violating the ceasefire agreement at the LoC and Working Boundary, which divides the disputed regions between the two neighboring countries.

Last week, three Pakistani civilians were martyred and 11 injured, due to unprovoked firing and shelling by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) across the Sialkot Working Boundary.

An Indian news website quoted an unnamed defence official as saying, the exchange of fire had initiated from the Pakistani side. The website added that 120mm mortal shells were also fired by the Pakistani forces.
