Sir Abdul Sattar Edhi – Angel of Mercy

Abdul Sattar Edhi was a prominent Pakistani philanthropist, social activist, ascetic, and humanitarian. He was the founder and head of the Edhi Foundation in Pakistan and ran the organization for the better part of six decades. He was known as Angel of Mercy and was considered Pakistan's "most respected" and legendary figure.

·         No religion is higher than humanity.

·         When you follow a rainbow, it ends nowhere.

·         Beware of those who attribute petty instructions to God.

·         People know that I have adopted four principles in living my life: simple living, punctuality, hard work and prudence.

·         Every day before school, my mother would give me two paisa and say, ‘Spend one on yourself and give the other away.’ It was her way of creating an awareness in me of the need for social welfare.

·         Education can be extracted from all things. No man is excluded from the divine source; it is equally available to all of mankind.

·         Recognition of self-esteem must lead to pride in labour. Its benefit is two-fold; it will develop you and the nation together.

·         The Holy Book should open in your souls, not on your laps. Open your heart and see God’s people. In their plight you will find Him.
