BANNU - Unidentified gunmen shot dead five members of a family in Bannu on Saturday.
Unknown assailants forayed into the house of Umer Ali in Bakka Khel area and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Umer, his wife and three children; nine-year-old Javed and two minor daughters.
The perpetrators ran away after committing the crime. Police shifted the bodies to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy.
A case has been registered against the unknown men and police have started investigation into the matter.
Baka Khel is a FATA town and union council in Banu District of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where wanton incidents are not a rarity.
