SHEIKHUPURA - All arrangements have been finalised for the PML-N Youth Wing convention scheduled to be held here on Jandiala Road on Sunday (today). Thousands of PML-N workers, office-bearers of different organisations from various union councils of the district would participated in the convention in a bid to show strengthen ahead of the upcoming general elections.
This was stated by PML-N MNA Mian Javed Latif while talking to this scribe here. It is to be noted that the setting MNA has executed record development work in his constituency and he is a potential candidate for the MNA slot in the upcoming elections. On the occasion MNA Javed Latif claimed that "it's my mission to serve people of my constituency in particular and of the district in general," he pointed out, adding that various public-welfare oriented projects had been completed for betterment of the area despite different problems created by the political rivals.
Talking about the incumbent rulers, the PML-N MNA said that the federal government had created disturbance, chaos and lawlessness through imprudent policies and massive corruption. "The corrupt rulers have pushed the common man into quagmire of problems and forced them to committing suicide and even sell their children due to worst economic scenario," he elaborated. Javed Latif said that the PML-N led Punjab government had laid a network of development projects and had introduced revolutionary policies under the leadership of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He claimed that after coming to power in the PML-N under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif would steer the country out of all crises and put on the path to progress and prosperity.
People demands streetlights: The residents of UC-85 Farooqabad have demanded streetlights in the locality.  Talking to local mediamen local notables including Dr Faiz, Usman, Rizwan Mughal, Shakeel Bukhari, Nauman, Abbas and Naveed stated that UV-85 particularly Mohallah Rasoolpura had been deprived of streetlights since long. They claimed that despite repeated requests the authorities concerned had become indifferent to the problems and did nothing to resolve the long-standing issue.
They pointed out that the locality wore a medieval look after the sunset and darkness caused great problems for the residences. This situation has given rise to the incidents of robbery and dacoity and people feel insecure after the evening. They demand the district administration to take notice and directed the TMA staffers to install streetlights in UC-85 Rasoolpura.
