ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Army on Saturday denied that it had contacted Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Sindh chapter for the verification of voter lists in Karachi.

The ISPR spokesman said that neither the election commission has contacted army to carry out the verification of the voter lists in Karachi nor the army approached the ECP to offer its assistance.   The Supreme Court had directed the ECP to carry out door-to-door campaign to verify the electoral rolls in Karachi, proposing to take army’s help to conduct the verification process. According to Sindh Election Commissioner Sonu Khan, army officials had contacted him to discuss the verification process.
