GUJRANWALA -Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Amir Hassan has expressed deep concern over the low pressure of gas being supplied to the industrial sector and demanded early resolution to the problem.

The GCCI president also threatened to launch protest if the SNGPL failed to ensure appropriate pressure of gas in the city. Talking to a delegation of industrial and trade unions, he said that ceramics, textiles, tiles and allied industries would face hardships to complete their export orders and local demands.

The delegation told the GCCI president that the industrial sector had just recovered from power outages and now low gas pressure was adding to their difficulties. The production has been decreased incredibly and tens of thousands of workers will be unemployed if the crisis continues.

Earlier, a large number of domestic and industrial subscribers of the SNGPL protested against low pressure and offices of the company were attacked by mob for a number of times which forced the company to mount boundary wall of the office.
