MULTAN - Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Senator Malik Salahuddin Dogar passed away Saturday after protracted illness at Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Lahore, the deceased’s family confirmed. He was 67.
The son of the deceased, MPA Malik Amir Dogar, who is also PPP’s south Punjab general secretary, declared that the Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered at MCC Ground at 2:00 pm today (Sunday).
Malik Salahuddin Dogar is survived by three sons, two daughters and a widow. He underwent liver transplant operation in China and returned to the country a month back.
However, he was taken to Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore after he developed some medical complications. Mr Dogar started his political career in 1968 and became councilor in 1979.
He was elected mayor of Multan in 1987. Dogar also remained member of Punjab Assembly thrice.
He was elected as senator in 2008. PPP leaders and workers gathered at the residence of Malik Salahuddin Dogar soon after hearing the news of his demise.
