BHAKKAR - The district salt processors are producing more than 300 metric ton iodized salt per month to support the prevention of iodine deficiency disorders.

Dr Suleman Zahid expressed these views during refresher training of salt processors titled "iodization techniques, quality control and legal framework of IDD/USI" organized by the Health Department in collaboration with the Micronutrient Initiative. Dr Suleman appreciated the role of 30 salt processors for strengthening the universal salt iodization program in the district. Participants from 30 salt processors attended the training session. The main objective of the training was to refresh the participants' knowledge on the importance of edible salt iodization, iodization techniques, quality control, packaging and adequate iodization.
