There is a move, sponsored by the PPP, to create a Seraiki province. One would say, why not, if the people of the area want it, let them have it; but then, there are bound to be repercussions. Dera Ismail Khan would like to be a part of the Seraiki province. There is already a demand for the creation of a separate province of Hazara. The Pakhtoons of Balochistan may also want a province, and then, horror of horrors, a demand for the creation of an Urdu-speaking province out of Sindh might be put forward. The consequences should be kept in mind before making a move. Don’t start what you will not be able to finish.
