Woman, PML-N leader among six killed separately

GUJRANWALA/MANDI BAHAUDDIN/ARIFWALA/TOBA TEK SINGH/MINCHINABAD - Six persons including a woman and former PML-N nazim were killed in separate incidents of violence, honour killing and mishaps over the past 24 hours.
In Gujranwala former PML-N UC nazim Irfan Muzaffar Cheema was gunned down when he was on the way to his village from People's Colony. The Saddar Police lodged a case against five assassins.
According to the Police Investigator, former UC nazim Irfan Muzaffar Cheema along with his wife left People's Colony for his native village Talwandi Musa Khan. Meanwhile, the accused intercepted his car and let off a volley of gunshots on him, killing him instantly while his wife survived the incident unhurt.
The police registered FIR against two real brothers Iqbal and Ihsan and their three accomplices. The police claimed old political feud was the reason behind the killing.
In MANDI BAHAUDDIN, a woman was shot dead by unidentified accused. The culprits stormed the house of one Nazir Ahmed in the suburban village Kot Baloch and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Maqsood Bibi wife of Nazir Ahmed on the spot. The police took the body to DHQ Hospital for autopsy and registered a case.
In another incident, a man was crushed to death by a moving train. Reportedly, Bashir Ahmed boarded Rohi Express was returning home. In the meantime the train did not stop at Pind Makko Railway Station due to which Bashir jumped down from the moving. Resultantly he fell under the train was crushed to death.
In ARIFWALA, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Police was shot dead by unidentified accused. Ahmad Yar Police ASI Faiz Fareed was performing duty at Tehsil Courts Arifwala. He was on the way to court in the morning when unidentified assailants shot him dead near Village 30/KB. The local police registered a case.
In TOBA TEK SINGH, a youth was electrocuted in Kamalia on Saturday. Deceased Umer Hayat, a resident of Peer Bakhsh Wali was standing near electric pylon when he accidentally touched a live wire.  As a result he sustained severe shocks and died on the spot.
In MINCHINABAD, a jobless young man committed suicide. Twenty five-year-old Safdar Hayat Lubana was unemployed since long and with had been facing severe financial constrains. Disappointed over his woes, he committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan in a room in his house. The body was sent for autopsy.
