Shortage: Owing to the shortage of anti-diphtheria serum in health department stock, the government has asked the World Health Organization to provide vaccine for the children under treatment at hospitals. The department was facing shortage of the vaccine due to its limited production in the world. ADS vaccine is administered to the children after they develop diphtheria owing to poor coverage of immunization.
