The FATA Tribunal on Monday reserved its verdict in Dr Shakil Afridi case.
The three-member tribunal compressing Shah Waliullah, Akbar Khan and Pir Fida hearing the case of Dr Shakil Afridi said that it would announce the verdict on the case on December 18.
Both the sides, prosecution and defence, completed their arguments in front of the tribunal after which the court said that it would announce its verdict on December 18.
Afridi was accused of assisting the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in obtaining DNA samples of Osama bin Laden through a fake vaccination campaign and was sentenced last year in May for 33 years for involvement in anti-state activities by a tribal court.
His sentence was overturned this year in August and a retrial was ordered.
Shakil Afridi had submitted petition in the FATA Tribunal in October seeking a fresh trial for the charges leveled against him so that he may defend himself through his legal counsel. Afridi was accused of treason for helping the CIA in tracking down Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad.
