ISLAMABAD - Special forces of Pakistan and China started a two-week joint exercise YOUYI-5 in China’s Qingtongxia city in the Ningxia Hui province yesterday, said an ISPR statement.

The ceremony was attended by senior military officers of special forces of Pakistan and People’s Liberation Army (PLA). National anthem of both the countries was played on the occasion.

The joint exercise is a part of Year of Friendship 2015 and will focus on anti-terrorism operations, hostage and rescue, cordon and search operations.

The joint exercise will enhance and further strengthen already solid military ties between Pakistan and China.

The YOUYI-5 is being carried out in extreme weather conditions of northern China to impart and share Pakistan Army’s experiences in war against terrorism.
