Bad blood, mishaps devour eight lives

Eight persons including two women and a child were killed in separate incidents of violence and road accidents in different areas over the past 24 hours. In Jhang, a man allegedly gunned down his 12-year-old son and wife over a petty family dispute in Faisal Colony of Civil Lines area.
Fakhar Imam, a resident of Mauza Machi Sultan was residing in Faisal Colony of Civil Lines area on rent along with his wife and son. The other night, he opened indiscriminate firing on his wife Hina Zahra and his son Hussain Ali, killing them on the spot over petty family issue. On the information, the Kutwali Police reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to hospital for post-mortem. The Kutwali Police have registered a case against the accused.
In another mishap, a schoolteacher Sagheer Ahmed, a resident of Mauza Kaki Nau situated in the remit of Waryyam Wala Police was coming back from duty on his bike when suddenly the bike collided against construction material of Bahoo Bridge. Resultantly, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
In another mishap which took place in the remit of Massan Police, relatives slaughtered a young man over land dispute. Reportedly, alleged culprits including Sultan, Sadiq and Jaffer, residents of Chak Kacha of Massan slaughtered Muhammad Jahangir with Kassi. The reason behind the murder was a land dispute.
Some unidentified culprits opened indiscriminate firing on 20-year-old Qaiser Abbas a resident of Garh More situated in the remit of Garhmahraja Police killing him on the spot. The police handed over the body to heir after post-mortem. The police also have registered a case against unidentified culprits.
In Hafizabad, a class second student identified as Haider Ali, was playing on the rooftop of his house in Dera Rajputan Hafizabad. Accidently he touched high voltage electricity cable passing over the house. As a result he received serious shocks and died instantly. Following the incident, the inhabitants of the locality led by victim's father staged a protest on Sagar Road and raised slogans against the Gepco. They accused that the incident occurred due to negligence of the Gepco employees. They demanded action against negligent Gepco officials and compensation to the parents of the deceased. In a road accident, a Lahore-bound bus (LES-9909) dashed against a truck (SGD-2798) on Sukheke-Lahore Road due to dense fog in the morning. As a result, Noupara of Attock was killed on the spot while 15other passengers sustained seriously injuries.
The injured were shifted to Sukheke and Pindi Bhattian hospitals.
In another incident, Muhammad Boota along with his friend residents of Mallay village was on the way to his village on a bike when a recklessly driven truck hit the bike. As a result Boota died on the spot while his friend was injured seriously.
The truck driver managed to escape after the mishap. The Sukheke Police have started investigation.
