LAHORE - Construction of playland is starting this month on build–operate–transfer (BOT) basis with an idea to provide modern recreational facilities to children.

An agreement is due to be signed next week between Lahore Safari Zoo Park and Fun Dunya, a private company.

A meeting was held yesterday with Wildlife and Parks Director General Khalid Ayaz Khan in the chair. Lahore Safari Zoo Park Deputy Director Syed Zafar-ul-Hassan, Deputy Director Headquarters Naeem Bhatti and other officers concerned attended the meeting.

Some Rs135 million will be spent on the construction of the Playland while recreational equipment, modern gadgets, swings and other items will be provided by the private company.

Ticket rates will be fixed by Wildlife department and the private company with mutual consensus.
