WAZIRABAD: A student of the Gujrat University was gunned down in a scuffle between two groups in village Kheway Wali, some 8-km from here the other night.

The scuffle erupted when young man namely Taimoor parked his motorcycle outside his house in the village and went inside. After sometime when he returned he found oil-tank of the motorbike damaged and dented. He suspected two youth - Hammad and Aamir of having done the damage and told them off for the wrongdoing. In the meantime Taimoor's brother Zaibi fired some bullets. After sometime Hammad and his cousin Aamir of along with another cousin, armed with firearms, reached there and abused Taimoor etc in retaliation. Meanwhile, a youth identified as Qadir Shah, a third year student of Gujrat University, was going to his shop to give his father tea.–Staff Reporter

Publisher nabbed after ATC rejects his bail

MIRPUR (AJK): The Law enforcement agencies arrested a local publisher after his interim bail was rejected by a local Anti-terrorism Court on Tuesday, police said on Tuesday. Mirpur Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Sheraaz Kiyani rejected confirmation of the interim bail of publisher Khawaja Muhammad Rafique. At which the police arrest him from the court and sent to the jail, the city police sources told The Nation Tuesday night. Khawaja Muhammad Rafique, owner of the local Kaasher Printers, (Printing Press) has been booked by the City police under Sections 07 and 37 of AJK Anti-Terrorism Act on the charges of producing books containing hatred and anti-state material. He was on bail from September 29, this year granted by the Anti-terrorism / Accountability Court Mirpur.–Staff Reporter
