KARACHI - Amidst strict security arrangements, the main Chup Tazia procession with a large number of mourners as participants ended at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar on Thursday. The procession of Chup Tazia or silent Tazia is usually regarded as the last procession of the mourning period that begins in Muharram. The mourners carried Alams, Tazia in the honour of Imam Hussain (AS).

The procession after passing through its conventional routes Numiash, MA Jinnah Road, Sadar, Tibet Center, Eid Gah, Light House and Boltan Market ended at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah Kharadar.

The second procession was emerged from Qasr-e-Musayyab Rizvia Society and ended at the Imambargah Shah Najaf on Martin Road.

On the occasion, strict security measures were taken by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and MA Jinnah Road is completely closed for all types of traffics. Massive traffic jam was witnessed at the key roads of the city including Solider Bazaar, Jamshed Road, Jail Chowrangi, Dada Bhoy Noorji Road, Kashmir Road and others. As per the traffic police, all the traffic coming from Saddar was diverted to corridor 3 while traffic coming from Tower was diverted to I I Chundrigarh Road.
