SHEIKHUPURA - Four unidentified suspected terrorists were killed in a shootout with the Counter-Terrorism Department and four others fled the scene under the cover of darkness here near Village Ghang in the wee hours of Thursday.

According to CTD sources, the lawmen raided a house following a tip-off that eight suspected terrorists were holed up in the house near village Ghang.

The outlaws, however, started firing as they saw the CTD personnel were coming towards them.

The CTD personnel retaliated and a shootout ensued for some time. As the firing subsided and the CTD men went forward, they found four of the suspects dead while their four accomplices had fled the scene, taking advantage of the darkness.

The CTD claimed that explosive material, detonators, maps of sensitive installations and places, motorcycles, bullets and arms were seized from the scene. The CTD have launched a search for the arrest of the fleeing suspects.

Sources informed that neither identification, nor autopsy of the four dead suspects could be carried out till filling of this report. Though the bodies were shifted to DHQ hospital, on one approached the authorities to lay claim to the bodies.

The CTD has registered a case and launched further investigation.
