Funeral prayer in absentia offered for PK-661 crash victims

COLOMBO: The Muslim community on Friday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the unfortunate plane crash in Pakistan and arranged a “Funeral Prayer in Absentia” for the victims of the incident, after Jummah Prayer at Dewatgha Mosque, Colombo-7.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Maj Gen (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain attended the Absentee Funeral Prayer along with officers of the High Commission, said a statement issued here.

The participants of the funeral expressed their deep condolences for the families of those who have lost their lives in this unfortunate incident. They conveyed their sympathies and prayers with the bereaved families.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft was crashed while heading to Islamabad from Chitral on 7th December 2016, killing all 48 passengers on board.
