LAHORE - National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq yesterday said that he had no intention to de-seat the PTI members.
Nonetheless, the Speaker said that he would inform the House about the members who have been absent from Assembly proceedings for 40 days.
Talking to the media here, he also said that any political party may file a reference against the absentees, but he won’t de-seat any PTI legislator on his own. Earlier, addressing a ceremony, the Speaker said that the govt was striving hard to complete energy projects, curb terrorism and to strengthen the economy.
It has achieved significant success in all these areas, he added.
Talking about Indian aggression on the Line of Control and persecution of innocent Kashmiris, the Speaker said that screening of Indian films and dramas in Pakistan should be discouraged under these circumstances.
