Japan to continue to help Pakistan in socio-economic projects

Sindh Revenue Minister Makhdoom Menboobuzzama, during his address as the chief guest at the Japanese National Day ceremony - held to celebrate the 85 birthday of Emperor Akhito - said that the Pakistani people and its government fully acknowledge and appreciate the material and moral support extended by Japan to Pakistan.

He said that both the countries, Pakistan and Japan, share a unanimity of views on many issues that the world was facing and Pakistanis admire the land of Nippon for their hard-working nature, which was why Japan is among the top five economies of the world.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Japanese Consul General Toshikazu Isomura said that Emperor Akhito would complete 30 years on the Chrysanthemum throne in January 2019. He added that these years have added to the prosperity of his country.

The Consul General said that Japan would be hosting the World Global Expo Fair 2025 in Osaka. The theme of the 2025 Osaka Expo is ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives.’ He said that this was the second time that Osaka would be hosting the fair. The first Osaka Fair was held in 1970 with the theme ‘Progress and Harmony for Mankind.’

The consul general invited Pakistani companies to participate in the six-month long fair which will open in May 2025 and last till 3rd November 2025. The Consul General said that Japan would continue to support Pakistan in projects that help to improve in the socio-economic uplift of the Pakistani people.
