SWAT - At least nine persons were killed and 14 others, including a security man, injured on Sunday in forces' ongoing operation against militants in Swat Valley. Moreover, curfew was imposed in the troubled areas of the Swat Valley for an indefinite period. According to details, nine persons were killed and 13 injured critically when mortar shells fired by the security forces hit several houses in the areas of Ogday and Takhta Baig. The targeted houses reportedly belonged to the suspected militants, belonging to Maulana Fazlullah. Similarly, the security forces also targeted militants' positions in Ali Gram and Kabal areas, however, no information of any casualty has been received till the filing of the report. Moreover, a security personnel was injured in a clash between the security forces and the suspected militants in Qambar area. In another incident a remote controlled bomb exploded with a big bang near a police check-post in Kanju area, however, no loss of life or damage to the property was reported in the incident. Meanwhile, the security forces imposed curfew in the troubled areas of Swat District, including Kanju and Nangolai, while the local people continued shifting to safer places amid curfew. The residents of Shagai and Saidu Sharif have established a relief camp for the help of the displaced people.
