Twenty people have been killed and several others injured in US drone strikes in North and South Waziristan on Friday. This was the first drone attack under the new American regime of President Barack Husain Obama and his new Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The President had vowed to be different in his approach both in the inaugural speech and during his election campaign. Pakistanis had expected a more sympathetic action from him. If US authorities could bring themselves to review the policy about drone attacks, it might help in the fight against terrorism. -MUDASSAR SHAHID, Lahore, via e-mail, January 25.
