HOLLYWOOD stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are among the nominees expected to attend Sunday's British Academy Film Awards in London. The couple will be joined on the red carpet at the Royal Opera House by other nominees, including Meryl Streep, Mickey Rourke and Penelope Cruz. Kate Winslet, hotly tipped to win best actress, is also among the list of confirmed guests. The Bafta awards ceremony will be broadcast on BBC Two from 2000 GMT. The show, which is being hosted by Jonathan Ross, will switch to BBC One for the final hour at 2100 GMT. Briton Kristin Scott Thomas will compete against Winslet and Jolie, and Streep, who has been shortlisted for her role in Doubt. The drama mystery has picked up supporting actor nominations for Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams. The late Heath Ledger joins Hoffman in the best supporting actor category, where Pitt is also recognised for his comic turn in Burn After Reading. Pitt is also up for best actor for his role as a man ageing backwards in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Newcomer Dev Patel is a surprise inclusion in this category for his part in Slumdog Millionaire, which is also up for best film. Danny Boyle's film about a young slum dweller who becomes a contestant on the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? has 11 nominations in total, as does Benjamin Button. Batman blockbuster The Dark Knight - in which Ledger played the villainous Joker - follows with nine nominations, while Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood, is up for eight awards. Frost/Nixon has received six nominations in all, while The Reader has five. This year's show will be hosted by Jonathan Ross. - BBC
