ISLAMABAD While acting on Lahore High Court Rawalpind Branchs directives, a bailiff raided Aabpara Police Station and recovered three people illegally detained there on Monday. The bailiff ordered the release of the detainees and directed the SHO to appear before the court today. Earlier, Raja Raheel had filed an application in the court on Monday stating that his brother Raja Shakeel was picked up by the police on Sundays night. Raja Raheels lawyer informed the court that his clients brother had been illegally detained by the Aabpara Police and prayed to the court to order for his recovery. Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman directed a bailiff to raid the police station as per the information provided by the applicant. The bailiff along with the complainant and his lawyer raided the police station and found applicants brother and two others Ibrar Bashir and Farhan in illegal custody of the police. The police failed to produce any FIR or even an entry in the daily diary about the arrests. The police had picked up these people in connection with probe into a murder case of PPP AKJ activist Capt (Retd) Tariq, who was gunned down on Sunday in their clash with Muslim Conference at a polling station in sector G/6 during LA-40 AJK by-polls. Subsequently, FIR of the incident was registered with Aabpara Police Station against 9 people including two cabinet members of the AJK government. Sources said that police on Monday raided Kashmir House, Khanna Pul and Sadiqabad area to arrest the nominated accused in the case but they could not find them.
