ISLAMABAD President Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) Enver Baig said on Monday that four national players would take part in the upcoming KL Open Bowling Championship which will commence from March 20 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was talking to the reporters in a press conference here at the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Media Centre, Jinnah Stadium along with secretary PTBF Ijaz-ur-Rehman and Senior Vice President PTBF Nasir Munir. Enver Baig said Pakistani players would also compete in the World Tenpin Bowling Championship which would be held in Croatia in October this year. While unfolding the national schedule, Enver Baig said the PTBF would arrange two national events including Second Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Bowling Championship 2010 and National Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010. We will arrange both national events at Islamabad to provide maximum opportunities to the upcoming boys to excel at national level, he said. Responding to a question, he said the PTBF would also hold an international bowling showpiece at Karachi this year 2010. We have international standard facilities to hold the Pakistan Open Bowling Championship 2010 at Karachi. We have limited venues for this game but we will raise infrastructure in all the major cities involving private sector, he added. We will establish bowling centres in Multan, Faisalabad, Sukkur and Sialkot to introduce this game to middle and lower class. We may hunt the talent from remote areas. There are five bowling centres in Karachi and two in Lahore which are meeting the international requirements for holding the international competition, he concluded.
