MANDI BAHAUDDIN - Nine members of a family, including three women and four children; were butchered in the town of Qadirabad, said DPO Abdur Rab Chaudhry on Tuesday. According to reports, Fayyaz Ahmed wedded Misbah Noreen, a resident of Kharlanwala. Fayyaz Ahmed often complained of the behaviour of his spouse. Two brothers Irshad Ahmed and Fayyaz Ahmed with their families were residing at a house in Basti Makhdoom some 50 kilometres from Mandi Bahauddin. Late on Monday night, unidentified persons slaughtered nine family members - Irshad Ahmed (31), Fayyaz Ahmed (32), Razia Bibi (50), Kauser Bibi (28), Shoaib (7), Sohail (2), Shahzaib (1), Qadir Mehmood (8), and Aasma Bibi alias Nauni, aged 21 - when they were sleeping. The neighbours came to know about the incident in the morning when they entered the house. The DPO and the police concerned rushed to the scene and took bodies to Phalia THQ Hospital for postmortem. Talking to reporters, Qadirabad SHO, Shafqat Mehmood Butt said a case was registered against Misbah for the brutal killing. The DPO said the brutal act was an honour-killing. He disclosed that a letter, found from the scene, read: This is revenge for misconduct with Misbah. Misbah is also missing from the house since the cruel act occurred, which leads to her involvement in this heinous crime, the DPO added. Agencies adds: Police said that it suspected that the family was given some toxic food which made them unconscious while a private news channel quoted the DPO as terming the cruelty a result of old family feud and said police launched investigation and raids to arrest suspected offenders.
