QUETTA – At least two Frontier Corps personnel were killed and three others wounded Friday when militants ambushed their convoy with rockets in Kech district, some 1,050 kilometres away from here.According to Levies officials, armed militants attacked the FC convoy, in tehsil Mand area, bordering Iran, which was carrying food for their fellow personnel.Resultantly, two personnel were killed and three others injured. The assailants fired several rockets and fled away when security personnel retaliated.FC personnel and local administration rushed to the site after the incident and shifted the deceased and injured to hospital where condition of an injured is stated to be serious.When contacted, the FC spokesman confirmed the incident. The deceased personnel were identified as Muhammad Zawar and Baharm while injured were identified as Muhammad Irfan, Aslam and Muhammad Ishaq.Meanwhile, the banned outfit Baloch Liberation Front spokesman Gowaram Baloch claimed responsibility of the attack.Meanwhile, a tribal chief, Sardar Taj Muhammad, along with his bodyguard was gunned down and three others were wounded in the attack, in Taftan of Chagai district.Assistant Commissioner Taftan Syed Murid Shah said Sardar Taj Muhammad Ghamshadzai was heading towards his residence located in Kill Station from Taftan Bazaar when armed men driving a pick-up opened fire on him. Sardar Taj Muhammad and his one bodyguard Abdul Malik were killed while three other bodyguards wounded in the attack.Local administration rushed to the site after the incident and shifted the bodies and injured to a hospital where the injured were identified as injured Jahangir, Muhammad and Abdul Ghani. “A search has been started and security has been beefed up at all exit points to arrest the culprits,” AC Taftan Syed Murid Shah said.
