ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has withdrawn the suspension of Dr Ahmed Nadeem Akbar on the directions of Islamabad High Court (IHC).

In a notification, the Acting Secretary of the Council, Hina Shaukat has issued the order that said ‘consequent upon the orders of the Islamabad High Court in writ petition # 481/2013 dated 06.02.2013 regarding the suspension of operation of impugned orders dated 22.01.2013 in respect of Dr. Ahmad Nadeem Akbar Ex-Registrar. The suspension orders dated 22.01.2013 are hereby withdrawn with immediate effect’.

The notification said Dr. Ahmad Nadeem Akbar is placed against the vacant post of Secretary PM&DC for drawal of salary till the decision of suspension of impugned orders on date fixed by the IHC.

It’s important to be stated that the registrar has been facing allegations regarding tampering in upcoming elections on which the executive committee of PMDC has shown strong reservations.

Moreover the controversy of the alleged illegal 19 medical colleges’ recognition has also been challenged by the Ministry of National Regulations and Services.
