Hundreds of employees of the tehsil municipal administration (TMA) observed a complete strike against nonpayment of their salary for the last two months.

They staged a protest in front of local press club where the employees’ leader criticised the officials responsible for the delay in payment of salaries.

The protesters chanted slogans against the administration and blamed that the administrator did not bother to arrange funds for their salaries due to which their families are facing starvation.

They demanded Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to intervene into the matter and direct the administration to resolve their problem. On the other hand, the TMA spokesman said that the authority is suffering severe financial crunch. As soon as, the funds are released by the provincial authority, the salaries and other dues of the employees would be released.

TWO BAKERIES SEALED: The District Food Authority sealed two production plants of bakeries on charge of preparing unhygienic products. AC Dr Rabia Riasat along with DFA teams sealed production plant of two renowned units due to poor cleanliness, preparing products without labels and not mentioning manufacturing and expiry dates on biscuits, cakes, rusk, pastry and other items.

The officials said that the plants administration has no medical certificate of the workers. The owners were directed not to use dirty utensils and comply with the instructions the of DFA officials.

They teams also sealed production units besides imposing fine. On the written application of the AC, the police have registered the cases.
