PESHAWAR - The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with the Saiyah Travels arranged a three-day motorcycle trip to scenic valley of Swat. The tour was titled “Bikers Caravan” and a total of 72 bikers participated in the event from Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.

The bikers caravan left from I-8 Markaz, Islamabad for Nowshera via Grand Trunk (GT) Road and then proceed to Mardan, Takhtbhai, Dargai, Malakand and Chakdara and stayed at Bagh Dheri on the first day.

On the second day, the caravan left for Malam Jabba and visited other scenic spots over there, including ski at Malam Jabba and then they went back to Miandam. On the third day of the event, the bikers left from Miandam for Takht Bhai and finally reached Islamabad.

The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had signed an MoU in 2014 with Saiyah Travels for arranging such unique tours to different parts of the province to promote tourism both nationally and internationally. During this time, many international tourists from Japan, Korea etc have visited Pakistan under the umbrella project.

Managing Director TCKP Mushtaq Ahmad, while welcoming the motorcyclists in Islamabad, said that concerted efforts are being made to attract more domestic and international tourists to the province. He said the tourists enjoyed every moment during their stay here and praised the steps taken for the restoration of peace and promotion of tourism in the province.

He further said that tourists dispelled the so-called negative impression associated with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its people. He said the efforts were yielding positive results as another group of tourists is arriving to visit the scenic sites in KP. He said the TCKP would plan more such tours to attract the international tourists, which is a big market to bring revenue to a lot of stakeholders.
