BADIN - A seminar on “Issues of water shortage and exclusion of women in decision making” held at Gymkhana Badin, here on Thursday.
Experts highlights the issues of water shortage in Sindh including district Badin were lack of desilting, lining of canals, water theft, illegal slabs installation and no participation of women in decision making.
A seminar was organised by local organisation AWARE, the representatives of different organisations were present, including Haji Taj Muhammad Mallah, Taluka Badin PPP President Parwaiz Babhan, SIDA Manager Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Bux Soomro, Khadim Talpur, Abida Jamali and others. They said that despite of several protests across the province, the water shortage issue spread tremendously. During the seminar, experts presented their suggestions and proposals for the solution of water shortage.
It was unanimously decided in the seminar that the water shortage issues in Sindh would be highlighted in the upper-houses of Pakistan through different channels and sources adding that every one among them would have to play their role.
