In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have booked five more civilians including a 15-year-old student under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted them to Kathua Jail in Jammu. According to Kashmir Media Service, 15-year-old, Towseef Hussain Butt of Baba Mohalla Shopian, who recently finished his 10th class examination, was arrested by the police in December 2010 for participating in anti-India demonstrations. District Magistrate Shopian slapped the PSA against him. Though family members and school date of birth certificate mention Towseef's age as 15 years, the detention order puts it at 19 years. Advocate Mir Shafaqat Hussain who questioned the basis of detention prepared by the detaining authority against the minor said, "I fail to understand on what grounds the detaining authority determines age of the minors." He said that the authorities were spoiling the career of the students by lodging them with hardcore criminals and booking them under false cases. Four others who were booked under the PSA were identified as Shamim Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Ayub Lone, Shakeel Ahmad Butt and Manzoor Ahmad Lone, all residents of Pulwama.
