ISLAMABAD - Former federal minister and chairman, anti-graft caucus, Nawabzada Khawaja Mohammad Khan Hoti has announced that he would contest next election from National Assembly Constituency NA-9 and provincial constituency PK-23 and challenged Azam Hoti to contest election against him. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that Azam Hoti was defeated in the general elections of 1988 due to their electoral combination and after breaking record of corruption as minister for communication, he never dared contest election from Mardan city. In the election of 1993, Azam Hoti contested from Katlung and returned to Mardan after defeat. He said that in 1999, an accountability court sentenced him to 14 years rigorous imprisonment in corruption and dacoity in the public exchequer. He further said that Azam Hoti had obtained bail in the pretext of illness from high court and wanted in 67 different cases. Khawaja Hoti said that he filed a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan for the cancellation of his bail. He said that he was proud of love that had extended by each child, youth and old people to him and called him Toti Khan in love and affection while Azam Hoti is known as dacoit alias Mena in his constituency and father of corruption. He announced that he would contest next elections from NA-9 and PK-23 and if Azam Hoti was ready to compete, he would nominate a common worker to stand against him and confiscate his security.
