LAHORE President PPP Punjab Imtiaz Safdar Warraich has maintained that his party does not have any problem in sitting on opposition benches in the Punjab, and the PPP is ready to break-away from coalition government in the province because instead of going through humiliation everyday, better it is to take a decisive step. Despite some reservations about the Punjab government, the PPP is working with the PML-N for strengthening of the democracy. However, the decision to remain in coalition will be made by the party leadership, he said, while talking to mediamen at Federal Minister for Social Welfare and Special Education Samina Khalid Ghurkis house here on Saturday after Quran Khwani and Milad held for slain Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer. PPP leaders Samiullah Khan, Akbar Khan, Faiza Malik, Sajid Mir, former president Ch Asghar Gujjar and Tahir Khaleeq were also present on the occasion. While spelling out his optimism about bringing Maulana Fazlur Rehman back on board, especially after the MQM had joined the government, he said, The PPP has satisfied the MQM, and won it back into the coalition government, and will do the same with the Maulana, he said, adding that the PPP leadership would also arrive at a final decision very soon about PML-N ultimatum about the coalition in Punjab. The PPP has never been afraid of acting as opposition, and we did not join Musharraf in latters parliament, he added, while mentioning that the PPPs Punjab chapter had already apprised the Party leadership about the complaints of 'powerless ministers in the provincial cabinet. We do not have any reservations about leaving the Punjab government since top leadership is fully aware of workers sentiments, he told the reporters. Samina Ghurki maintained by reversing the petrol prices, the Prime Minister had won the hearts of the masses. She was of the considered opinion that the PPP was part of the Punjab government not by choice, rather for the sake of protecting the democracy and strengthening the system.
