The confession by RSS Chief Swami Aseemanand in a court of law in India that he, along with other Hindu extremists, had carried out the Samjhota Express blasts, Ajmer and Mecca Masjid bombings has exposed India as a safe haven for Hindu terrorists. It is a slap in the face of all those including the Indian government and Americans who never tire of raising a hue and cry calling Pakistan a terrorist state. Given the fact that a number of Pakistanis had died in Samjhota Express blasts, Pakistan must demand Aseemanands extradition and that of the Indian military officer, Lt-Col Purohit, who is also involved in the attacks. New Delhi in the meanwhile has expressed interest in reviving the peace process and an invitation to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been sent. However, in response nothing would be more appropriate than asking the Indians to extradite the terrorists responsible for the death of Pakistanis in the Samjhota Express. It is outrageous that New Delhi continues to blame Islamabad for the Mumbai attacks despite its failure to provide any proof. The RSS Chiefs confession also has a link with Mumbai attacks. Anti-Terrorism Squad Chief Hemant Karkare and other members of his crew were shot to death because they were investigating Indian Military officials including Lt-Col Purohit for their involvement in Samjhota Express attacks. It is but natural to conclude that since Hindu extremists in the Indian army were being exposed, the ATS Chief was silenced through gruesome Mumbai attacks. With the confession of RSS Chief, not only has the existence of Hindutva terrorism in the Indian society been confirmed but also the extent to which the cancer has spread its tentacles to the Indian establishment and military. This is great shame for the Congress-led government. Islamabad must now get tough and reject the talks offer until the terrorists responsible for the deaths of Pakistanis are arrested and handed over to us.
