ISLAMABAD (APP) Several willing volunteers need proper training and other facilities to cope with natural disaster in the country. Youngster from different schools and colleges said that they are willing to get an opportunity of training to deliver their services during disaster situation like flood and earthquake. They urged National Volunteer Movement (NVM) to create proper training opportunities for those who willing to join volunteerism. Sameer Khan, a student of first year in local college said that this is vital in the best interest of the nation and country to promote volunteerism. He said that the concerned department should take steps in this regard to facilitate willing youngsters. Another student, Khuram Bashir said that during flood situation there was shortage of trained volunteers. He said that NVM should arrange more training and will start registration and training programmes across the country to train youth for future catastrophes situation. Pakistani nation is filled with the spirit of volunteerism and there is need to give them opportunity and guidance, said an official of NVM. He claimed that NVM has planned to impart training to the more volunteers how to serve during natural calamities and about first aid disaster management, flood relief, rescue and rehabilitation. NVM is an organization dedicated to provide a platform for pubic contribution in society building and create a ready pool of individuals that can be mass stimulated to act promptly and effectively in natural and man-made disasters, he said.
