Philanthropists have decided to set up Madni Dastarkhwans (free food points) in collaboration with district administration in connection with celebration of Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW).

The Dastarkhwans will be set up at Sabzi Mandi, Chngi No-9, Ghanta Ghar, Masoom Shah Road, Old Bahawalpur Road and other major areas of the city where poor and homeless citizens will be provided with food for free. This was disclosed by the Convenor Madni Dastarkhwan Haji Muhammad Nawaz and officiating commissioner Multan Zahid Saleem Gondal.

The such food points are set up only in Ramazan while now for the first time the same are being established on 12 Rabiul Awal.

Addressing a meeting, Nawaz said that serving humankind is a great virtue as Islam stressed the importance of this practice. He urged the wealthy citizens to step forward and collaborate with the organisers for expanding the gamut of this activity.

DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal announced to donate his half salary for the current month for Madni Dastarkhwans. Former MNA Sheikh Tariq Rasheed suggested on this occasion that another such food points should be set up in each union council in collaboration with philanthropists.
