Minister denies any deal on Musharraf

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad has said that the government is committed to providing basic facilities for the people especially those living in remote areas.
Addressing a public gathering at Dhok Gulab Khan, the minister said that there was no pressure on the government from any local or foreign quarters to show any leniency to Pervez Musharraf or send him abroad. “No one has even slightly talked about it with the government in this regard,” he said.
He said that present government was striving to solve the problems faced by people on priority basis. He said that to provided facilities to the residents of village Sojhanda and Ghoramar his on priority.
He said that the PML-N government inherited numerous problems from the previous regime and now efforts were being made to take the country out of these problems. Sheikh Aftab said that the government was tackling the price-hike, energy and economic crises. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was trying to overcome the crippling energy crisis by setting up new power plants with cooperation from China and Turkey.
Talking about the local government elections, the minister said that PML-N would make a clean sweep in the LB polls. PML-N District President Sheikh Salman sarwar and City President Sheikh Ghulam Samdani also addressed the gathering.
RESCUE SERVICES PRAISED: District Emergency Officer Dr Muhammad Ashfaq said that Rescue 1122 is serving the humanity. During the last four years, Rescue 1122 Attock handled almost 25,000 emergency cases which include 4,500 traffic emergencies, 1,600 medical emergencies, 355 crimes, 350 fire emergencies while 2,100 patients were removed to various hospitals.
He was addressing a function held in connection with 4th anniversary of Rescue 1122 Attock.
DCO Muhammad Iqbal was the chief guest on the occasion. DEO Mian Ashfaq said that besides providing services in emergency, Rescue 1122 departed training to volunteers and students of different schools and colleges.
Meanwhile, Secretary Population Altaf Aizad Khan paid a visit to Population Office where he was briefed by Population Officer Zafar Iqbal about different programmes of the department going on in Attock district.
