TOKYO-Thieves made off with a diamond ring worth a third of a million dollars in a low-key heist at a Tokyo boutique on Christmas Eve, reports said Wednesday. Two Asian men visited the Wako jewellery store in Tokyo’s upmarket Ginza shopping district on December 24 and asked to examine a number of high-price rings from a glass case, the reports said. Speaking in broken English and Japanese, they asked staff to accompany them to a bank to withdraw cash, the Mainichi Shimbun daily said.
