SARGODHA-Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday suspended a DSP, SHO and investigation officer for negligence in the case of a child killed after sodomy in Bhalwal.
The Punjab chief minister took the action during his visit to village 19-South Pahrianwala, for attending funeral of MPA Chaudhry Tahir Ahmed Sandhu who passed away due to heart failure on Monday.
Shehbaz Sharif attended funeral for the deceased MPA who was later laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in the village.
Later, the Punjab chief minister met the bereaved family 10-year-old boy Ali Raza, the only brother of six sisters, who was killed after sodomy a few days ago in Bhalwal. The local police, however, failed to extend any help to the affected family despite repeated request. The bereaved parents also tried to meet Nawaz Sharif during his Kotmoman public meeting but failed.
The chief minister rebuked the Sargodha RPO and DPO while immediately suspended DSP Saleem Warraich, Bhalwal Police SHO Farooq Hasnaat and investigation officer Fakhar.
The chief minister also announced Rs one million financial assistance for the slain boy's parents. On the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif warned that any negligence and incompetence would not be tolerated in the investigation of the case to bring the culprits to the book.
