Rawalpindi-Nineteen days after the missing of Chinese supervisor from Karot Hydropower Project, police and intelligence agencies are still groping in the dark about his whereabouts, sources disclosed on Monday.

The Regional Police Officer Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja has chaired a high level meeting in Kahuta and ordered the police to grill all the labourers working with the missing man to get any clue about his whereabouts, sources added.

Liu Ping Zhei, a supervisor in Chinese company Sino Hydropower Corporation, has been missing from his duty point at Karot Hydropower Project, Kahuta since December 20, 2017 and police have registered his missing report on complaint of DSP/Incharge Special Protection Unit (SPU) Asghar Ali Goraya with Police Station Kahuta.

According to sources, the police investigators and other personnel of intelligence agencies have been facing difficulties in finding Liu Ping Zhei as they could not obtain the mobile phone and data of the local network SIM being used by him.  Sources said, “A Chinese mobile company in Pakistan has distributed two types of SIMs among the Chinese labourers and engineers working at Karot Hydropower Project in Kahuta.

 

First type of SIM is called data SIM on which the Chinese can use only internet whereas the second type of SIMs are calling SIMs which are used by workers for communication with each other,” They said that the investigators could not recover the mobile phone in use of LIU or gain access to SIM data so far.

Sub Inspector Tanveer Ashraf, who is posted at PS Kahuta and is leading the investigation in high profile case, when contacted, said he has no knowledge about the case and the missing Chinese national.

Meanwhile, a high level meeting was held under the chair of RPO Wisal Fakhar in PS Kahuta in connection with case of missing Chinese national.

The meeting was also attended by City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, acting SSP (Operations) Ameer Abdullah Khan Niazi, SSP SPU Col (retd) Shahid, SP Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Rawalpindi Chaudhry Majeed, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kahuta Circle Malik Ejaz, DSP/SPU Incharge Asghar Ali Goraya, Inspector Suhail Mumtaz of Special Branch Rawalpindi, SHO PS Kahuta Basharat Abbasi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Attiq Ur Rehman and the officers from intelligence agencies and other security related departments.
