QILA DIDAR SINGH - Residents of Ladhewala Warraich and Kot Ishaw had been lacking water supply for 15 days and a month respectively.

According to a survey report, people of the two localities have been deprived of water. During the survey, people told The Nation that they cannot perform daily routine works due to water shortage. They said that they have informed the authorities concerned several times but to no avail. They demanded the Gujranwala deputy commissioner take notice of the incident.


A man thrashed a woman after failing to rape her. According to Ladhewala Warraich police, Mahnur Bibi, mother of two children, was alone at home when the accused, Abu Sufyan, intruded into the house and attempted to rape her but failed as she offered resistance. He fled after subjecting her to physical torture. The police registered a case against the accused and are conducting raids for his arrest.


At least 800 patients were examined at a free medical camp set up by Foundation for Young Researches Serving the Humanity. The foundation chairman, Dr Irfan Bashir, along with 12 doctors and 38 paramedics examined the patients and provided them free medicines. The camp was established under the auspices of local Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Amir Ali Hussain Khan. Talking to The Nation, he said that the objective of establishing the camp is to provide free treatment to the poor.
