ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has cancelled the party membership of Member of National Assembly Kashmala Tariq due to her violation of party's rules, regulations and discipline. PML-Q Information Secretary Senator Tariq Azim told TheNation on Tuesday that party President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain earlier issued two warning notices to Kashmala due to her consistent violation of party's rules and discipline but she ignored them and didn't reply. "She conducted vocal talk on electronic and print media against party policy and senior party members. If she had any difference with members, she could discuss them on party's platform," he added. "Kashmala became a central figure in controversies, groupings, all sorts of criticism against PML-Q policies and formation of forward bloc, and thus she enjoyed being in the limelight of media," Tariq said. He said that many party members had submitted complains against her violation of party's rules and regulations. Azim said that the behaviour of Kashmala was becoming a concern for PML-Q due to her recent statements and unremitting criticism against party leadership. He said Kashmala made several comments against Party Parliamentary Leader Faisal Saleh Hayat at different national and international events. Thus party leadership decided to take apt action over her attitude and conduct. He said that Kashmala was elected as MNA on reserved seats after February 18 elections. He said that the PML-Q had submitted letters to Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Qazi Muhammad Farooq and National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza for cancellation of Kashmala's membership of National Assembly. Tariq Azim also told that PML-Q President had summoned the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting here on July 11. He said besides the issue of Kashmala, overall political situation of the country, price hike, economic crisis, operation in tribal area and others issues would also be discussed in the meeting. Replying a question, he said that a committee of PML-Q comprising S M Zafar, Anwar Bhinder, Khalid Ranjha was discussing the PPP proposed constitutional package and would present its report in the meeting for further discussion.
