ISLAMABAD - Muhammad Zubair Hashmi, SSP (Traffic) has directed the Islamabad Traffic Police officials to issue traffic violation tickets to slow moving vehicles, motorcyclists and cyclists plying on fast lane causing hindrance in traffic flow. According to details, SSP Traffic Muhammad Zubair Hashmi during direction to the ITP staff directed to maintain better traffic discipline in the city and take strict action against the slow moving vehicles, motorcyclists, cyclists plying in fast lane causing traffic hindrance. The vehicles plying in slow speed against prescribed speed limit, should not allowed to use fast lane creating hazard in smooth flow of traffic. These vehicles are allowed to use fast lane only, when they wanted to turn towards right side as cyclists are mostly ignorant to traffic light signals and change lanes without any formal requirement creating obstruction in smooth flow of traffic in order to maintain lane discipline in the capital. The cyclists are supposed to ride on the hard or soft shoulders, he added. If any cyclist commits the lane violation or crosses the red light, he would be issued a fine ticket and his identity card would be impounded so that the traffic discipline might be maintained in the Capital.
