LAHORE - Women, especially mothers, can play vital role in discouraging use of drugs among the youth.

Anti-drug / narcotics campaign consultant Syed Zulfiqar Hussain said this while addressing a training workshop on drug abuse prevention at the Girls Guide House on Sunday.

The workshop was organised by the Youth Council for Anti-Narcotics and Pakistan Girls Guide Association, which is chaired by Nafisa Sikandar Malhi, while Atlas Honda Manager Tasleem Shuja was the chief guest. Psychologist Muhammad Nazif and Malik Javed also spoke on the occasion.

Talking to workshop participants, Zulfiqar Hussain said they were establishing a drug abuse information and counselling centre in Lahore where they would provide training programme, counselling for drug addicts and their families, and internship programme for youth on drug abuse.
