LAHORE – Parts of the province, including the City, received rainfall of varying degrees on Sunday, providing much needed respite to the people from the prevailing spell of muggy weather.
Scattered rain, cloudy weather and continuously-blowing winds caused decrease in the temperature during the day and at night.
On Sunday, the maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 35 degree Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 54 per cent. 
People come out of their houses in the evening to enjoy the pleasant change in weather, and major parks and picnic spots attracted a large number of people, including women and children. As a result, a huge rush was witnessed at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Jilani Park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Jallo Park, Lahore Zoo and other picnic spots in the City.
According to the experts, a seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending to southeast wards. Monsoon currents are also penetrating into upper parts of the country.
Experts have forecast rain / dust-thunderstorm at scattered place of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan divisions); upper and central Punjab (Islamabad / Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad and Multan divisions); and Azad Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
Rain / dust thunderstorm is also expected at isolated place of lower Sindh coast, Northeast Balochistan, Makran Division and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hot and dry weather is expected in the remaining parts of the country.
