PESHAWAR - In a bid to portray a soft-image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through showcasing skilled women entrepreneurs’ manufactured products from different parts of the country, the Women Business Development Centre (WBDC), in collaboration of Tourism Cooperation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP), is going to organize a three-day mega craft exhibition “Summer Trade Fair-II” from 10th to July 12.Briefing the media here on Sunday, WBDC Project Manager, Nabeela Faman, said that this business development event has been designed to promote handicraft of skilled women entrepreneurs of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with their participation from other parts of the country. He further said that the event is also aimed to build a soft-image of the province.Nabeela informed that the event will continue three-day at a local hotel, which will be formally inaugurated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Industries in a ceremony to be held on July 10.She maintained that more than 50 stalls would be set up in the exhibition, wherein products of women entrepreneurs from Chitral, Haripur, Mardan, Bannu, D.I.Khan, Peshawar, Multan, Bahawalpur, Islamabad were showcased, mostly female stuffs would be available at very nominal rates.She expressed the hope that the event will not only helpful in promoting skilled works and products of female entrepreneurs, but also prove to develop linkages with women entrepreneurs with other parts of the country.“We had played a significant role for development of women entrepreneurship with short span of time”, he maintained, added that a number of young entrepreneurs were trained and started their businesses at own level.“Women are more intelligent and skilled, but there was only need to provide a healthy atmosphere to showcase and promote their artistic work in a benefiting manner,” he stressed. She further said that WBDC had provided a great opportunity to develop their businesses in this regard.She said the women economic empowerment was dire need of the hour, saying that most of the skilled women were much anemic to develop their products in attractive way. She added that WBDC platform had played important role in women economic empowerment by providing opportunity to promote their artistic work.Nabeela urged the buyers to visit the three-day Summer Trade Fair for giving a sign of encouragement to women entrepreneurs to their skilled work, which was helpful to enhance their level of passion and zeal with the business profession.
