MULTAN - In order to ensure implementation of electoral code of conduct in NA-151 by poll, all the four enforcement and monitoring teams formed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) remained active in the constituency on Sunday. Sources said that the teams located at many place wall chalking done in favour of many candidates and got it removed by the representatives of district administration.
Sources added that the officials of Bosan Town also removed dozens of banners, posters and panaflex from different areas and took them into the custody. The members of monitoring teams made videos of wall chalking and other violations.
The ECP sources, however, said that no candidate committed any serious violation of the code of conduct and therefore no recommendation for action was being made against any candidate.
It may not be out of place to mention here that the NA-151 constituency got vacated because of disqualification of former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. The by poll to this constituency is scheduled to take place on July 19.
